This property is in Portsoy where there is a Primary school and a local medical practice, together with a small selection of local shops, a historic harbour and Loch Soy. Further shopping and leisure facilities and a Secondary school are present in Banff, approximately 8 miles to the East and similarly in Buckie approximately 12 miles to the West. The town of Elgin is also approx. 27 miles to the West and Aberdeen approx. 50 miles to the South East (with main Railway Station and Airport). For many years Portsoy has hosted an annual Scottish Traditional Small Boats Festival.
