Conveyancing
For most people, buying or selling their home is the biggest financial transaction in which they ever get involved…. So naturally you want your house sale or purchase to go as smoothly as possible. This is where we at Stewart & Watson come in.
The Legal process of a house purchase or sale is called conveyancing, and at Stewart & Watson we have well over a century of experience in this area.
Buying
We can advise you right from the outset on how to go about finding a suitable property, noting interest in the house you finally choose, assisting in organising any appropriate surveys and other reports which you may need, putting you in touch with a reputable mortgage advisor, negotiating the contract for the purchase and completing the important conveyancing formalities to ensure that you get a good title to your property.
Finally we coordinate your funds for the purchase and ensure a smooth handover on the date of entry – and perhaps most importantly for you, arrange for the keys to your new home to be handed to you.
Selling
You will be more than likely to have used our estate agency services. After our property staff have found you a buyer, our legal teams then come in to action and complete the contract for the sale and carry out all the appropriate searches and conveyancing to transfer title of the property to the buyer. And for you, most importantly we strive to have the sale proceeds paid across on the date of entry, repay any mortgage you might have and make the free proceeds of the sale available either for your next purchase or for you to invest.
